TEMPUS

Tempus is a precision medicine technology company using data and genomics to help physicians make more informed decisions for their patients. I joined as the second designer when the company was ~150 people and helped scale the design function as the organization grew to 2,000+ employees and a 25-person design team.

Over five years, I led design strategy across 10+ products spanning multiple business units — from complex tools for scientific and clinical teams to Tempus's first patient-facing app. I became the go-to designer for ambiguous and experimental problem spaces, partnering closely with domain experts in Radiology, Cardiology, and Oncology to define product direction from the ground up. My work ranged from core product launches to emerging tech explorations including interactive demos, VR experiences, and Tempus ONE, a voice assistant for oncologists.

I owned end-to-end product development — from research and product strategy through interaction design, prototyping, and engineering handoff. At the CTO's request, I stepped into a product management role to establish strategy for Tempus's patient experience, defining what would become a critical new business area. As one of the senior ICs on the team, I mentored designers and contributed to team culture and design process as the organization scaled.

The projects below demonstrate my range — from 0→1 incubation in high-stakes healthcare environments to shipping at scale under regulatory constraints.
